Role Overview
The BDR acts as the front line of our sales process — responsible for engaging with inbound and outbound leads, qualifying them based on key criteria (homeownership, roof suitability, interest level, SEAI eligibility, etc.), and booking high-quality appointments for our field reps.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident on the phone, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and motivated by helping people find real energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to warm and cold leads (from marketing campaigns, referrals, events, website enquiries, etc.)
- Follow up with inbound enquiries quickly and professionally
- Use a structured qualification process to assess potential customers’ suitability for solar PV (e.g., location, roof orientation, homeownership status)
- Explain the basics of Solar PV and available grant supports (e.g., SEAI) to homeowners in simple, clear terms
- Book appointments for field sales reps with well-qualified prospects
- Update CRM system accurately with lead status, notes, and scheduling information
- Work closely with marketing and field sales teams to improve lead quality and sales handoff
- Meet daily and weekly KPIs around call volume, conversion rate, and appointments booked
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a call centre environment (B2C experience preferred)
- Excellent phone manner and communication skills – clear, warm, and persuasive
- Ability to build rapport quickly and professionally with a variety of customer types
- Organised and detail-oriented, with solid time management skills
- Confident using CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and general office software
- Proactive, resilient, and target-driven – enjoys achieving results
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Solar PV or renewable energy (training will be provided)
- Experience qualifying leads or setting appointments in a high-volume environment
- Familiarity with SEAI residential grant schemes or the Irish energy market
