Security Guard and porter for accommodation housing migrants. This role is based outside the Airport on a country road with a 20 minute walk from bus links. The successful candidate will be approachable, courteous and respectful of our residents as well as professional.
Key Details:
- Pay: Starting at €14.50/hour (negotiable based on experience)
- Hours: Minimum 38 hours/week; occasional cover required with advance notice
- Shifts: Mix of day and overnight shifts, 7 days a week; flexibility required
- Roster: Generally published weekly on Tuesday
- PSA Licence: Required (training will be provided on-site)
- Language: Good level of English required
- Transport: Own transport highly desirable due to remote location
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine hourly patrols of the property (interior and exterior) and log visits at guarding contact points
- Monitor CCTV cameras and ensure awareness of all site activities
- Respond to and report any security breaches, disturbances, or unusual activity
- Accurately maintain logs and complete incident reports
- Manage visitor access and ensure accurate completion of sign-in logs
- Carry out basic housekeeping duties such as changing bins and tidying common areas
- Assist with storage and movement of bulky items; perform light maintenance tasks as needed
- Be the designated responsible person in case of emergency (e.g., fire alarm, medical situation)
- Support residents and promote a respectful, inclusive environment
Skills and Qualifications:
- Up to date PSA licence required
- Knowledge of standard security and safety protocols
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of relevant computer applications
- Reliable and respectful, supportive of different cultures and backgrounds

Desirable:
- Previous experience in a residential setting, especially supporting vulnerable populations
- First Aid certification
- Conflict de-escalation or trauma-informed care training
