Job overview
Working alongside Executive Housekeeper / Deputy Executive Housekeeper / Other operational managers to ensure the best guest’s experience and the highest standard of cleanliness, managing stock levels and ordering supplies, communicating with other departments, plan allocation of rooms to staff, training staff, inspecting accommodation and public areas to ensure that hygiene and health and safety standards and regulations are met. Lead and direct the team of Housekeeping staff in conjunction with Executive Housekeeper/Deputy Executive Housekeeper.
Key Delivery Areas
- To actively train all staff to the standards laid down in the Training Manual and monitor their work performance in a friendly, collaborative and effective way
- To be aware of the day’s business both in Room Occupancy, Special Requirements and VIP needs.
- Liaise with Reception regarding Room moves, VIP guests, Special Needs and act on any information given.
- Issue keys, room lists, check lists and cleaning schedules to accommodation staff at the beginning of shift and collect and check them at end of shift.
- Check all work given to the Accommodation Assistants, Linen Porters and Maintenance throughout the day to ensure standards are being adhered to.
- Ensure effective inspection of dedicated work section on a given day.
- Ensure all maintenance work in bedrooms in daily section are rectified prior to releasing rooms back to front desk.
- Ensuring that accommodation is clean, well maintained and attractively presented.
- Maintain stock levels of stationary, linen, towels and amenity requirements in order to ensure consistency in standards.
- Knowledge of the hotels hygiene, health and safety regulations
- Compile maintenance lists where necessary and ensure that all lists are recorded in the correct manner.
- Monitor staff performance to ensure that guests are happy and that the Accommodation Department is well run on a daily basis.
- Minimise wastage of materials and energy through careful monitoring of staff.
- Ensure Accommodation Department complies with hotel waste practices.
- Liaise with other Accommodation Supervisors, Deputy Executive Housekeeper and Executive Housekeeper to ensure the smooth operation of the Accommodation Department.
- To observe safe working practices in carrying out the required duties and ensure that instructions specified are adhered to.
- To carry out ad hoc cleaning duties as necessary or as requested by the Management team
- Cleaning knowledge and willingness to learn
- Comply with Health & Safety regulations.
Role Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years experience in a similar role at 4* or 5* level - non negotiable
- The ability to use Microsoft office applications and Hotsoft.
- Thorough Understanding of the importance of Customer Experience and uncompromising standards of excellence
- High Attention to Detail
- Great communication skills – ability to clearly communicate with guests and management and staff across a variety of nationalities and experience levels
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
- Energetic, Friendly, Approachable, Professional, Courteous and Well Groomed
- Have the ability to supervise and train staff members ensuring high levels of service and accuracy
- Focused on providing a consistently high standard of service and hygiene
