Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Electrical Engineer to head our Electrical Services Division. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in electrical design, project delivery, and team leadership within pharma and life sciences sector. You will be responsible for leading complex projects, mentoring engineering staff, and ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards. This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Electrical Services Division, overseeing the planning, design, and execution of electrical engineering projects.
- Provide technical leadership across all project phases, ensuring high-quality design and delivery standards.
- Manage a team of electrical engineers, promoting collaboration, development, and high performance.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, representing OSENG in client meetings, technical discussions, and project negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international codes, regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Prepare and review detailed electrical design documentation including specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Participate in and lead project reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering activities.
- Support the business development team by contributing to proposals, tenders, and strategic growth plans for the division.
- Manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively while maintaining profitability and client satisfaction.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and regulatory changes in the electrical engineering field.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (master’s preferred).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is essential, ideally registered with Engineers Ireland or an equivalent recognized professional body.
- Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience, with significant time spent in a leadership or senior technical role.
- Proven experience managing complex electrical projects in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure sectors, ideally within Ireland or the EU.
- Strong understanding of Irish electrical standards, building regulations, and health & safety requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor engineering teams, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to engage with clients at a senior level.
- Proficient in the use of relevant electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Amtech, Dialux, etc.)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience leading a division or business unit within a consultancy or engineering firm.
- Experience working on electrical projects in the Pharma / Life Sciences, Data Centres, or Healthcare sectors.
- Certified in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Knowledge of sustainable energy systems and low carbon technologies.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) standards and coordination processes.
- Ability to support tendering processes, fee proposals, and technical bid preparation.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in strategic business planning.
