We are looking to hire a Podiatrist in Limerick to assist our going work with the HSE.
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a Senior Podiatrist to cover maternity leave on a 12-month basis in Limerick City. You will provide high-quality, evidence-based podiatry care to a diverse patient population, working within integrated care teams across acute and community settings.
Key Responsibilities1. Clinical Practice
- Deliver comprehensive assessment and management of foot and lower limb conditions, including nail surgery, wound care, and biomechanical assessments.
- Perform vascular and neurological evaluations; interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
- Provide standardised diabetes foot care, including risk stratification, ulcer prevention and debridement.
2. Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (GPs, nurses, physiotherapists, endocrinologists, orthopaedics) to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in case conferences and shared-care pathways between acute and community services.
3. Education & Training
- Supervise and mentor junior podiatrists, assistants and undergraduate students.
- Contribute to CPD workshops and in-house training sessions on topics such as wound management and biomechanics.
4. Service Development & Quality Improvement
- Engage in clinical audits, service evaluation and development of care protocols.
- Support implementation of national HSE and HIQA guidelines to maintain clinical governance standards.
5. Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with GDPR and HSE protocols.
- Manage clinic schedules, equipment, and stock control.
- Report incidents, contribute to risk registers and support health and safety initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Sc. (Hons) Podiatry or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU.
- Eligibility to practice within the publicly funded health service.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification clinical experience, with exposure to diabetes foot care and musculoskeletal podiatry.
- Competence in nail surgery, wound debridement, orthoses prescription and gait analysis.
- Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.

Pay: €63,000.00-€65,000.00 per year
