Job Description
The Senior Scheduler is responsible for managing the project schedule in accordance with the NEC4 contract, ensuring it is realistic, up-to-date, and facilitating communication between the client, contractor and other stakeholders. This role is crucial for identifying potential delays early and collaborating with the contractor to find solutions.
The candidate must be comfortable in supporting the development of sustainable scheduling processes, influencing General Contractors and Trade Partners and help influence the scheduling culture across the program.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the schedule is aligned with the NEC4 contract requirements, including the works Information and any agreed secondary option
- Reviewing and accepting the contractor's programme, monitoring progress against the accepted programme, and assessing the time impact of compensation events
- Monitoring progress against the schedule and identifying any potential delays or issues
- Working with the Contractor to develop and maintain a realistic and achievable programme
- Working with the Cost Manager to evaluate and manage compensation events
- Ability to identify and manage potential risks related to time and cost and working with the contractor to mitigate them
- Providing regular schedule updates and reports to the Project Management team and to make informed decisions about the project schedule
- Assisting the Project Manager in assessing the impact of compensation events on the schedule
- Preparing progress reports, claims reports, and other documentation as required by the client and the NEC4 contract.
Key Skills:
- Experience working with NEC4 contracts, including relevant clauses related to the schedule, compensation events, and early warning notices.
- Proficiency in reviewing and managing construction schedules, and experience with project planning software Primavera P6.
- Proven ability to assess and manage compensation events, including the ability to evaluate time and cost impacts
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse schedules, identifying issues and working with teams to develop solutions
- Ability to develop long term relationships with all team members, and effectively balance people and processes.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or equivalent technical degree and/or minimum 10+ years’ experience
- Ability to coordinate & organise multiple sources of schedule inputs/performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project/program status reports as required.
- Experience building critical path schedules from knowledge and first principles, interviewing and leading workshops with project resources. Experienced in defining and agreeing progress reporting approaches with contractors.
- Familiar with large capital programs, extensive pre-construction programming and scheduling experience managing complex, multi-group, multi-disciplinary development projects.
