- Develop and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in alignment with ISO standards
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards

- Ensure advice is given to management on health, safety, environment and compliance issues and related legislation
- Responsible for communicating changes in legislation to the site senior management team via the site SHEQ committee meetings
- Responsible for ensuring compliance to all safety and environmental legislation through audits, reviews and updating the legal register responsible for ensuring company standards are maintained to include fire prevention, H&S awareness, site inspections and environmental awareness in all areas
- Ensure the working conditions are compliant with H&S regulations and environmental awareness, and acts accordingly when there is a need to address issues – raising with site management and escalating if required
- Responsible for ensuring proactive monitoring regimes are executed by local management and records maintained at all times
- Ensures accidents and incidents are investigated with follow up reporting documentation supplied
- Respond to claims which come in from external legal teams by collating evidence packs in relation to the incident and liaising with external and internal stakeholders
- Responsible for ensuring plans are put in place to mitigate repeat occurrences
- Develop a regular SHEQ communication plan with all levels of site management and employees
- Responsible for delivering action plans from SHEQ audits and delegating action to resolve findings and drive best practice
- Identifying and assessing risks at all levels and report findings to site management and via local meetings
- Proposes new/revised processes and actions to prevent risk to the company, staff, buildings, MHE and goods
- Delivery management training in line with the training matrix
- Responsible for ensuring all forms of SHEQ risk assessment are undertaken and up to date e.g. general, manual handling, fire prevention, work equipment and any specialised assessments as required by the management system
- Ensure occupational HS&E related surveys carried out e.g. noise, lighting and implement associated recommendations
- Prepare management reports for the BE Director and for the region
- Attain and maintain industry accreditations as agreed, ISO, TAPA etc
- Ensure managers are executing their role and responsibilities as required in the management system
- There may be some travel to other sites for meetings, training courses and to assist when required
- Understand significant risk, aspects & impacts at divisional/site level. This includes an initial review and further ongoing reviews as part of the management system process. This may be completed in the form of risk and or impact register
- Ensure there is appropriate dissemination and communication of information on SHEQ matters to management and colleagues
- To work closely with our business partners to ensure that they understand their role within the Ireland SHEQ agenda, our policies, expectations and how they can help contribute to our objectives & targets
- To respond to any external requests for information on safety, health, environment and quality. To record any regulator visits/communications invited or otherwise onto our QMS
- To regularly attend / organise SHEQ meetings to ensure knowledge sharing and development of the SHEQ MS. To review the SHEQ performance targets and objectives and any recommendations resulting from audits or inspections, either internal or external, are addressed in the shortest time scale which is reasonably practicable
- That the site has identified all emergency situations and has created and communicated an emergency plan and associated measures to reduce their impact on SHEQ
- Emergency drills are conducted in line with the QMS
- Site escalate incidents in line with the Business Continuity Manual and Ireland escalation procedure
- To ensure all site licenses are being monitored and renewed where applicable
- All site records are retained for the required retention times as specified within the manual
- Coordinating and undertaking internal audits
Candidate Profile
Essential Education and/ or Training
- NEBOSH Certificate in H&S or equivalent preferred
- Experience of working in H&S in a logistics, transport or warehousing environment
Essential Technical Experience and Knowledge
- Experience in H&S management, ideally within a fast-paced environment
- Strong Knowledge of QSHE regulations and standards
- Proficient in MS office and QSHE management software
- Experience of reporting on all H&S issues and incidents
- Experience of implementing preventative measures to mitigate H&S risks to the business
- Experience of site audits and follow up action plans
- Experience of implementing plans and strategies to ensure H&S compliance
- Experience of operational processes in transport and warehousing
- Experience in carrying out investigations
