Summary:
The Senior Analyst, Trading & Valuations will work closely with and report to the Vice President, Trading & Valuations and will be responsible for assisting in the development of analytical tools and models used by the trading team to make aviation asset investment and disposal decisions. This position requires investment analytical skills and 2-3 years’ experience, ideally in the aviation industry.
Responsibilities:
- Produce and maintain internal financial models as required by the Trading team for a broad range of aviation assets, primarily commercial aircraft and engines. Provide ongoing support and feedback for the evolution of template internal pricing models.
- Process customer-issued RFPs for the purchase of assets; model the transaction, work with internal teams to complete required tasks, and provide recommendations on pricing and structure. Track key industry and company metrics, integrating into financial models as appropriate. Analyze trends in the data and highlight findings to senior team members.
- Perform financial analysis related to asset sales, portfolio management, and liaise with other internal teams and business units to provide analysis support as required. Compare the performance of previously executed deals with original analysis. Provide feedback and recommendations based on the findings to be incorporated into future modeling and analysis of deals.
- Create, update, and improve reports for the Trading team and senior management. Prepare analysis, recommendations, and RFPs for asset portfolio sales. Provide internal and external assistance through the RFP process as required.
- Liaise with external appraisal firms. Review and analyze the data received, providing feedback and guidance as appropriate to both appraisers and internal teams.
- Perform financial analysis related to asset sales, portfolio management, and other tasks as required by the Trading team and senior management.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in financial modeling and investment analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc)
- Experience using Salesforce CRM preferred but not essential
- 2+ years in aviation or finance fields, aircraft/engine leasing experience preferred but not essential
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with different levels of management.
Travel/Misc.:
- Attendance at relevant industry conferences is expected, and ad-hoc customer visits may be required.
- Flexibility to work across different time zones as needed.
