Position Summary
Systems Professional Role focused on designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining digital systems and infrastructure on site. The Systems Engineer ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house systems that support the manufacturing functions. This role will mentor and support less experienced colleagues to ensure delivery of solutions that meet business needs.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Takes ownership for the support of systems and applications used to support the manufacturing process.
- Monitor existing systems to ensure structural integrity.
- Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of business intelligence tools used to manage the manufacturing process. Identify potential risks that could impact the systems performance, security, or reliability.
- Provide technical direction to the wider engineering team with respect to digitalisation strategy. Work as part of a cross functional team to ensure system integration is considered on all manufacturing equipment and systems installed.
- Understanding of integrating, testing, evaluating, and modifying systems is required and seeing the process through from beginning to end.
- Take responsibility of database architecture identifying and initiating changes required to support the business.
- Troubleshoot platforms through log files and database queries, and general setup of Windows and Linux environments.
- Creating reports that are thorough, detailed, and able to be comprehended by customers.
- Provide on the job training/support to new team members.
- Follow required Company Quality and regulatory standards with all work executed.
- Work with Manager to develop skills necessary to optimally perform in current role.
- Development of User Interfaces and User Experience environments.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Knowledge Skills
- Level 8 Degree in a Software or IT related discipline or related field with equivalent technical experience is required.
- Has 4+ years’ experience
- Working knowledge of Power BI, Ignition, DeviceWise an advantage.
- Experience of programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java, C++ required.
- Understanding of the ISA95 standard, Software validation requirements and their role with respect to regulatory bodies such as FDA & BSI.
- Relevant professional body qualification or accreditations (for example MCSE, CCNA, ISO/IEC 15288-2015) desirable but not essential.
- Understanding and experience with Object Orientated Programming
- High level of problem-solving skills and a logical thinker.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent initiative and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Ability to work onsite full time in a hybrid office / factory environment.
- Knowledge / experience of software version control.
- Working knowledge of database design and configuration.
- Working knowledge of software application development and web application development.
- Understanding of application communication protocols. E.g. TCP/IP, MQTT, Rest.
