Pharmacy Service
Our PSI-registered pharmacy has an onsite team of experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, supported by a Superintendent Pharmacist. Our pharmacy team delivers a full dispensing and clinical pharmacy service tailored to the needs of our patients, our clients and our associated professionals in the healthcare industry. We pride ourselves on managing some of the most complex and bespoke patient support programmes in Ireland. Our community services allow patients to be cared for in a more comfortable and cost-effective alternative to hospitals, bridging the gap between primary and secondary care to provide the best patient outcomes.

The Role:
We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our professional, quality focused team. This Support Pharmacist role offers an exciting challenge to someone wishing to take to gain experience in a variety of unique pharmacy services including but not limited to TPN, IV antibiotics and orphan drug dispensing services. Full training will be provided in each service.
Objective
The Support Pharmacist ensures full compliance with all regulations, code of conduct, Statutory rules and professional guidelines to maintain the highest ethical standards and deliver excellent patient care. The role requires supporting the pharmacy team in a busy and challenging environment delivering a variety of home care and dispensing programmes.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To operate in accordance with all the legal requirements pertaining to the profession and within your PSI licence.
- To maintain consistent professional standards always and ensure full compliance with all regulations, code of conduct, statutory rules and professional guidelines to maintain the highest ethical standards and deliver excellent patient care.
- To support the Pharmacy team and provide ongoing communications on both personal and business performance and initiatives.
- Support the pharmacy team in the successful delivery of a variety of home-care programmes including but not limited to: Outpatient Parental Antimicrobial Therapy, orphan drug and TPN dispensing services, retail pharmacy services and more.
Job description
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team; provide information to medical, nursing and healthcare professionals and patients.
- Scheduling and on demand Planning of pharmacy services and Point of Care out-patient programmes.
- Cold chain management and maintenance of GDP.
- To maintain excellent stock control including rotation of stock, maintaining appropriate stock levels, using approved suppliers, and maintenance of the prescribed inventory control database.
- Ensure accurate records relating to the procurement, storage, quality control, dispensing, distribution, and destruction of medical products are maintained in accordance with best practice standards and applicable legislation.
- To support the smooth running of the dispensary, including maintaining computer records, maintaining financial and claims protocols and ensure that the paperwork pertaining to the various programmes is kept up to date and in line with company procedures and good document management.
- Contribute to Error Management system within the Pharmacy.
- Ensure full compliance with all Health and Safety requirements.
- Be accountable for personal professional practice through regular engagement of continuing education and training to maintain a high level of competency in clinical pharmacy. Fulfil the CPD requirements of the Pharmacy Regulator, The Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland and Irish Institute of Pharmacy (IIOP).
- To participate in meetings and conference calls as requested being mindful that you are a representative of the high professional standards of the organisation.
- Create, promote and maintain open communications and healthy working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to further develop innovate services within the organisation.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
The successful candidate should possess and demonstrate the following:
- Registered as a pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
- Ideally have 1 to 2 years working in the Irish Health care system.
- Strong clinical skills.
- Ability to balance the requirement of multiple projects and services within agreed timescales.
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner with excellent time management skills as well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Patient focused.
- Strong communication, organisational and administrative skills.
