Role Overview:
This is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite in Dublin city centre and 2 days offsite working remotely.
This is a 12 months contract role.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on experience in translating business requirements into effective Tableau reports and dashboards.
This role is primarily focused on the development lifecycle within Tableau, with minimal involvement in administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy interactive and user-friendly Tableau dashboards and reports.
- Connect to various data sources (Dremio, SQL databases, cloud platforms, Iceberg, Parquet etc.)
- Create and implement complex calculations, including Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, parameters, and sets to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Optimize dashboard performance and ensure efficient data loading and rendering.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of dashboards to ensure data accuracy and functionality.
- Provide support and training to end-users on developed reports and dashboards.
- Stay abreast of the latest Tableau features and industry best practices in data visualization and dashboard design.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Essential:
- 5+ years of proven experience in developing reports and dashboards using Tableau.
- Strong proficiency in connecting to diverse data sources and performing data preparation and transformation.
- In-depth understanding of data visualisation best practices and design principles.
- Demonstrated experience in creating complex calculations and advanced Tableau features.
- Very strong understanding of SQL and experience writing efficient queries.
- Desirable:
- Experience with publishing and managing content on Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud (understanding user permissions is a plus, but not a primary focus).
- Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik).
- Basic understanding of statistical concepts.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
