As part of its continued growth, the company has a vacancy for an experienced Telecoms/IT Field Service & installations Engineer to join the team based in Galway city.
Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Telecoms/IT Field Service & installations Engineer to join our team. This position will be based in Galway city. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation services for our client’s systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in On-Premise VOIP & Cloud solutions/PBX systems & associated hardware, Data Cabling, Fibre Optic Networks & Wireless Network Systems, LAN/WAN networking, and excellent problem solving skills. This role requires the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks efficiently, and communicate effectively with clients and staff alike.
Duties:
* Provide on-site engineer installation, technical support & maintenance for VOIP/Cloud IP Telephony Systems & solutions, 1st & 2nd fix Data & Fibre Cabling Network installations, LAN/WAN & Wireless Network Solutions, IT networking hardware & telecom's software solutions.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by customers promptly and effectively to minimise downtime and ensure the smooth operation of their systems & solutions.
* Perform ongoing support & routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, software licencing, and hardware maintenance for continued solutions performance and reliability.
* Reporting to our Technical Service Manager, you will work with our internal team members including Technical sales, Helpdesk support & service engineers to escalate and resolve technical issues in a timely manner based on customer SLAs.
* Provide technical guidance and support to end-users.
* Document service activities, including service reports, troubleshooting steps, and resolution details, accurately and comprehensively.
* Stay updated on emerging technologies in Telecoms & IT industry & best practices to continuously improve technical knowledge and skills.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures.
* Maintain a professional and customer focused attitude at all times, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and building strong relationships with clients.
Key requirements:
* Full B class Drivers licence.
* Proven experience in some of the following areas - Digital/Hybrid IP, VOIP On-Premise Telephone Systems, Public & Private VOIP Cloud Solutions platforms, SIP trunking, IP Call Recording & Reporting Software Solutions, Business WiFi Network Solutions & LAN/WAN's - routers/switches/firewalls/PC config/Data Cabling Networks & Fibre Optic Networks installations/Fusion Splicing & testing. IT/Comms Room Fitout/installations & upgrades/ Public Address Systems/Intercoms.
* Ability to work independently on own initiative, prioritise tasks efficiently, and manage time effectively to meet SLA deadlines and customer expectations.
* Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to analyse technical issues and implement effective solutions.
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical users.
* Experience with Win 10 & 11/MS Office 365/IP Networking
Qualifications:
* Diploma or Degree in Information Technology/Telecommunications, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* Proven experience (3+ years) in a similar IT/Telecoms field service engineer role.
* Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network) are desirable but not essential.
