Role Brief:
As a Vision Systems Engineer, you will maintain, enhance, and develop vision systems and inspection algorithms for highly regulated environments. You'll work closely with clients and internal teams—including quality, engineering, and operations—to deliver high-impact solutions on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and document vision system projects
- Maintain and optimize existing vision systems and inspection algorithms
- Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and develop project timelines
- Test, validate, and document systems to meet regulatory standards
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless project execution
- Complete advanced training in Cognex and Keyence vision systems
Skills Brief:
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in machine vision engineering, preferably in regulated high-volume automated manufacturing environments
- Experience working with GDP/GMP/GAMP standards
- Proficient with Cognex In-Sight cameras, BCRs, and In-Sight Explorer (spreadsheet programming)
- Strong knowledge of vision tools: histograms, edge tools, blob tools, OCR, logic, image processing and job profiling
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics and vision algorithm development
- Experience of the specification and setup of cameras, lenses and lighting
- A proven ability of programming vision systems in .NET environments
- Strong experience of developing and training inspection algorithms
- An understanding of industrial networking and troubleshooting network issues
Desirable:
- Experience with VisionPro programming
- Exposure to the integration of cameras with PLC systems
- Experience with Keyence and Beckhoff vision systems
- A background in AI & machine learning applications would be advantageous but is not essential
Person Brief:
Candidates will, as a minimum have a bachelor’s degree in IT, Mechatronics/Automation or Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline with 3 or more years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (Pharma, Life Sciences, Medical Devices or Biotech).
You must have specific hands on experience working with Vision systems and designing, implementing, and documenting vision system projects. A demonstrable track record of taking on and delivering against Vision system focused tasks and projects is essential.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills as well as exceptional problem solving skills are an essential requirement in this role.
This role is based fully onsite in Limerick and you must be available to be onsite daily (Monday to Friday) as remote working is not offered. You should be living within a commutable area or be able to relocate within no more than 2 months.
