Role Summary
As a Service Advisor at Harris Retail, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, guiding them through vehicle servicing and repairs with exceptional care and clarity. You'll coordinate with the workshop team to ensure efficiency and uphold Harris Group’s high standards of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers professionally, assess their vehicle needs, and manage intake and drop-off.
- Schedule service appointments across phone, email, or walk-ins, aligning with workshop availability to optimise workflow.
- Liaise with technicians: translate customer concerns into action-oriented work orders and relay progress updates accurately.
- Explain service findings, estimates, and timelines to customers in clear, jargon-free language.
- Prepare estimates, oversee invoicing, process payments, and finalize job cards and records.
- Recommend additional services when appropriate (e.g., maintenance plans, parts upgrades) in support of customer wellbeing.
- Handle customer queries, feedback, and complaints with solutions-oriented professionalism.
- Collaborate with internal departments (parts, warranty, reception, sales) to support cohesive service delivery.
- Capture and relay customer feedback to drive service improvement efforts.
Skills & Experience
- At least 1 year in a similar customer-facing role within the motor industry is preferred.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational capability to handle scheduling, prioritization, and multitasking, especially during busy periods.
- Proficiency in Dealer Management Systems (e.g., Kerridge, ADP) or willingness to learn.
- Comfortable interpreting basic automotive service concepts; formal technical training advantageous but not mandatory.
- Full, clean driving licence valid in Ireland.
Qualifications
- Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) is essential; further customer service or automotive training is a plus.
- Must have legal working rights in Ireland.
