Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete assessments and care planning for each resident.
- To provide a varied activities programme that addresses the needs of all residents as identified from the Activity Assessment.
- To carryout group session and individual sessions with residents to meet their recreational, leisure social and spiritual needs as expressed by the residents, their families, or caring and nursing staff.
- Planning and implementing special activities which include outings, garden visits, birthday parties, Christmas and other seasonal celebrations.
- Completing the daily / weekly program of Activities
- Create a Life Story Book for each Resident
- Communicate with families and keeping them up to date on activities and events.
- Managing the Social Media platforms
- Facilitate visiting groups to the Nursing Home
- Facilitate celebrations of cultural significance
- Maintain Residents notice board
- Maintain the Activity Log
- Other duties as requested from Management which may include but are not limited to; escorting Residents to hospital visits or covering for HCA absence etc.
Skills Required
- Qualification in Social Care, Health Care studies or equivalent is essential.
- SONAS certified is desirable.
- At least 2 years’ experience working in Care of the Older Person within a residential care home setting is essential.
- Knowledge of completing the weekly activities program
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrable skills in cooking, gardening, knitting, music, arts and crafts is desirable.
- Fluent level of English both written and oral

Pay: From €13.50 per hour
