Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Automation (Control Systems) Engineer, you will:
Provide Technical Expertise: Day to day support in process automation systems hardware / software and competence in electrical installations with integrated control systems.
Plan and Execute Projects: Manage and deliver Control Systems upgrades, replacements, and continuous improvement projects.
Lead and Support Initiatives: Troubleshoot, update, and conduct technical root cause analysis and incident investigations.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement initiatives to ensure system compliance, reliability, and production control system requests.
Ensure Safety and Compliance: Maintain GxP Computerised System Life Cycle processes and adhere to all site quality and EHS policies.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks
Provide automation day-to-day technical support to API manufacturing facility.
Administer and resolve control system related issues.
Develop/maintain detailed specifications, engineering documents, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Instructions.
Utilize operational excellence tools to solve complex problems.
Manage change control requests per established SOPs and processes.
Support a safe working environment by complying with all pertinent environmental health/safety practices, rules, and regulations.
Be responsive to the needs of the business and work within a strong OT team environment.
Support the OT On-Call out of hours support.
Manage and implement small to medium projects.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Automation & Controls, Electrical Engineering, Technical certifications or related life science engineering.
Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in manufacturing process automation within or support to a BioPharma, API or other Life Science facilities.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLC, HMI, SCADA, and Batch Systems, including Siemens and Rockwell PLCs, Siemens HMIs, iFix, InTouch, PCS7 SCADAs, and Building Management Systems.
Automation Tools: Experience with RSLinx, RSNetworx, OctoPlant, ThinManager, PRTG Network Monitoring, and Historian / Database knowledge.
Standards and Compliance: Working knowledge of GAMP software development lifecycle, ANSI/ISA-S88 and S95 industry standards, GAMP5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and EU Annex 11.
Network Technologies: Familiarity with TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, Network IDS/IPS, Active Directory, Domain Integration, and Firewalls.
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, technical writing, and communication/presentation skills.
Microsoft Office Proficiency: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Change Control and Validation: Experience in change control, non-conformance, corrective and preventative actions, and validation practices.
Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders and collaborate with teams from different departments.
