Accenture provides integrated finance and accounting services to a large global technology corporation, across seven global delivery locations. The engagement spans over one hundred countries and includes over five hundred individual s worldwide incorporating thirty-six languages. In Dublin, a local team supports the client operation with Record to Report processes supported by our back-office team.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE
Working in conjunction with the client as part of the outsourcing agreement, the Accenture Tax accounting team is responsible for supporting indirect and direct tax with the Microsoft Tax Compliance Team.
Indirect Tax -
Preparation and review of VAT returns for 50+ countries across EMEA & APAC.
Submitting Intrastat and VIES in scope
Handling general VAT enquiries
Assisting with VAT audit requests
Digital Sales Tax accrual and payment
Direct Tax –
Post CT entries
Support YE analysis were needed
Support WHT physical documents sent by client / partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES/OBJECTIVES OF THE
Reporting to the Tax Lead, the Tax Analyst will work as part of the tax team (three onshore and four offshore) supporting the tax objectives (primarily VAT and Withholding Tax). This will involve supporting the Tax Lead as needed.
Management: Collaborate with team across the Tax environment. Mentor and share best practice within team.
Process Improvement: Help identify projects to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
Tax Audits: Assist the Tax Lead on any VAT Audits that may arise.
Internal Audits: Assist with Internal Audit queries related to all work performed by the Team.
In addition to the above, the senior analyst is responsible for:
Preparing indirect Reconciliations and Journals in line with the fiscal calendar to ensure backup documentation is SOX Compliant.
Gathering, analysing and reconciling VAT data from client financial systems and data received from client outsourced vendors.
Dealing with miscellaneous tax queries from the business and auditors.
Engaging in the training, coaching and development of team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Third Level degree in Business, Finance, Law or equivalent
AITI, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or similar qualification
Experience in VAT Returns preferable.
Experience in a Tax environment would be beneficial but not necessary.
Working knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
