We are now seeking an experienced, passionate, and motivated Deputy Manager to support the leadership and daily operations of our childcare centre. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality care and early years education in a supportive and vibrant setting.
Your Role as Deputy Manager
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Manager to lead our dedicated team, ensuring the smooth running of the centre and the consistent delivery of outstanding care and education. You’ll also step in as Acting Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Designated Liaison Person (DLP) for child safeguarding (training provided if needed).
- Support, mentor, and lead staff to deliver the highest standards in early years practice.
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the center, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
- Oversee staff development through appraisals, mentoring, and organizing CPD training.
- Coordinate staff rotas and ensure ratio requirements are met at all times.
- Manage staff holidays, absences, and rotas using BrightHR.
- Maintain effective communication with families, staff, and external agencies.
- Support room teams as needed to maintain quality interactions and staff coverage.
- Track and report on attendance and documentation using ChildPath.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through regular feedback from families and staff.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum Level 5 in Early Years Education (or equivalent).
- At least 2 years of experience in a relevant childcare or early years setting.
- Proven leadership experience in a childcare or early years setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Aistear curriculum and child protection policies.
- A confident, approachable, and proactive leader who thrives in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to complete training as DLP and become proficient in ChildPath and BrightHR.
