About The Role
This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively. As the Commercial Analyst, you will play a critical role in enhancing our profitability and ensuring our sales strategies are financially robust.
Key Responsibilities and Cost Model Development- Develop, maintain, and improve detailed cost models to support pricing strategies and
sales proposals.
- Ensure cost models accurately reflect the costs associated with delivering services, including labour, materials, overhead, and other direct and indirect costs.
- Collaborate with the sales team to tailor cost models to specific client requirements and project scopes.
Financial Analysis and Support:
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to validate cost assumptions and ensure the accuracy and competitiveness of pricing proposals.
- Support the preparation of business cases and financial proposals for new and existing clients.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of cost data by implementing robust processes
- Regularly review and update cost data to reflect changes in labour rates, material costs, and other relevant factors.
- Maintain detailed documentation of cost assumptions, methodologies, and sources.
- Work closely with finance, operations, procurement, and other departments to gather necessary data and insights for cost models.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and tailor cost models accordingly.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost modelling processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices to ensure cost models remain relevant and competitive.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive business growth and operational efficiency.
- Proven experience (typically +2 years) in financial analysis, cost modelling, or related roles.
- Experience in sales finance or similar areas within a complex, dynamic business environment.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in developing and optimizing cost structures and pricing models.
- Ability to think strategically and align cost models with broader business objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the specific industry in which the company operates can be beneficial, providing context for cost structures and market conditions.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is an advantage
