Overview:
The I&O Field Services Compute Analyst is a key role with the PGCS (PepsiCo Global Concentrate Solutions) IT team based in Cork, Ireland. This role is responsible for providing and maintaining a secure and compliant compute technology environment across PGCS Cork, with wider engagement required on compute best practices across other PGCS sites.
The PGCS Cork Campus is made up of three manufacturing plants, R&D offices and PGCS headquarters. The team supports 1000+ cross-functional users, different locations and delivers IT infrastructure and operations stability, performance, and projects for PGCS Cork to Pepsico IT global standards.
This position will involve supporting the global security group initiatives, maintaining the security patch level of the infrastructure environment and across PGCS Cork and driving compliance with responsibility for required global controls testing for PGCS Cork.
Vendor management is key in this role with external support that we receive for several applications. A deep understanding of IT and its function to support manufacturing is required. There is also a responsibility to engage with 3rd party managed services vendors providing support to the compute, SQL and manufacturing systems environment in Cork.
High levels of communication and collaboration are required as the role works closely with internal IT groups such as PGCS architecture, Network, Compute and Workplace Services (WPS), incident/change management teams & senior IT management. Engagement with technical/project teams, manufacturing operations and engineering teams will be required.
The incumbent will track compute spend across the Cork technology budget and liaise closely with direct manager and finance to report spend trends, in addition to engaging with IT teams from other PGCS sites to share knowledge, best practices, maintain security levels and to coordinate upgrade projects.
3rd party vendor interaction and collaboration are essential in the role to renegotiate maintenance contracts; scope proposals for new solutions; request quotations; troubleshoot issues on existing solutions.

This is a temporary role for up to 24 months.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for maintaining compute environment operational performance and stability across the Cork campus; ensuring resilience for the business; minimising downtime and incidents.
  • Ensures the PGCS Cork compute infrastructure environment remains virus free and compliant with all global standards by managing the patching schedules and maintaining the relevant security tools for PGCS Cork including SEP and BigFix. Coordinates DR testing for all PGCS Cork compute systems.
  • Leads and participates in PGCS Cork compute and network projects as required. Responsible for completing all global controls testing and coordinating support for the SQL environment in PGCS Cork.
  • Communicates to relevant IT and Business stakeholders on security metrics; expected to influence others to follow IT best practice & key processes. Coordinates and reports on compute financial spend for Technology team on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and integration experience is required across Compute, Network, Workplace Services & Security technologies.
  • Strong history in Compute IT Operations with 5+ years’ experience.
  • Previous experience collaborating, building relationships across multiple teams and vendors.
  • High level of communication across different organization levels is required.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills and presentation skills.
  • End to end ownership; act as owner by taking a holistic approach to solutions scoping and problem solving and actively driving collaboration across functions.
  • Ability to engage and influence across business functions.
  • Desirable to have in depth knowledge of Pepsi processes, (e.g., change approvals, security assessments).
  • Awareness of IT, business, and IT/OT governance strategies and wider PGCS priorities.
  • Expertise in stakeholder and third-party vendor management.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years min Compute experience.
  • External certifications and qualifications required in these areas: Microsoft Windows OS, MS SQL, VMware, Cisco, Azure/Cloud.
