The Role / Location

Savills is hiring an experienced Data Privacy Specialist to lead privacy and data responsibility programs across all business areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with privacy, data and AI laws, developing and implementing privacy policies and driving initiatives that promote best practices.


This role is based onsite in our Dublin office.


Key Responsibilities

Act as the company Data Protection Officer (DPO) and fulfil all related obligations as mandated under the EU GDPR and similar frameworks

  • Maintain privacy control frameworks, conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement
  • Act as the primary point of contact for data protection queries and issues, both internally and externally
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including legal, compliance, technology, and business teams, to identify business requirements resulting from new and evolving privacy laws and regulations

Manage, monitor and negotiate privacy related commercial terms (e.g. Data Protection Agreements) with suppliers and clients

  • Ensure data subjects' rights are upheld, including managing subject access requests and data breach responses

Foster a culture of accountability and responsibility regarding privacy and data responsibility among employees

  • Assist in the development and implementation of automated privacy, AI and data capabilities on key technology platforms


Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • 3+ years' experience in a data privacy manager/ data protection officer role
  • Extensive knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to Irish and European privacy, data and AI laws
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional certification in data protection (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, ISO27001)
  • Strong understanding of AI ethics and data responsibility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in records management and data retention technologies and tools
