Job Description
Role: Delivery Driver
Location: Westpark Innovation Campus
Shannon, Clare
Salary: €15.50 p/hour
We are seeking an efficient and flexible Delivery Driver/ Commis Chef to join our team in Shannon, Ireland. This dynamic role combines food delivery responsibilities with entry-level kitchen duties, offering a unique opportunity to gain experience in both aspects of the food service industry.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely deliver food orders to customers in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Assist in basic food preparation and cleaning tasks under the guidance of senior kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and delivery vehicle
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols in all aspects of work
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as directed
- Manage time effectively to balance delivery and kitchen responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service both in-person and over the phone
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory management
- Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
- Accurately process payments and handle cash transactions when required
Qualifications
- Valid driver's licence and clean driving record
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques
- Food safety certification (e.g., HACCP) or willingness to obtain
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly, professional demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic mathematics skills for handling transactions and measurements
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Previous experience in food delivery or kitchen work is preferred
- Basic culinary training or education is desirable but not required
- Familiarity with the local area and strong navigational skills
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions accurately
