We are now seeking applications for the position of Environmental Compliance Specialist for our site in Bailieborough
About the Role
Lakeland Dairies is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Compliance Specialist to support and enhance our environmental and energy management systems across two key sites. This is a dynamic role for someone passionate about sustainability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation and maintenance of ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System.
- Support EPA inspections and SGS audits, including preparation, documentation, and presentation.
- Collaborate with waste partners to ensure environmentally responsible waste management practices.
- Lead biodiversity initiatives in line with the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan and Origin Green.
- Manage chemical usage and inventory in the WTP and WWTP, including SAP record-keeping.
- Oversee compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 15001 standards across both sites.
- Coordinate data and reporting for Origin Green and EPA submissions.
- Monitor and manage F-Gas compliance and all site-generated waste.
- Conduct site inspections, incident responses, and environmental assessments.
- Analyse environmental performance data and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and present environmental documentation and reports.
- Track and report on environmental and energy KPIs, working closely with plant teams to drive improvements.
- Manage laboratory testing, EPA ring tests, and technician oversight.
- Analyse water and effluent data to support process optimisation and reduce losses.
- Ensure compliance with Data Protection and Health & Safety regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, ISO standards, and sustainability practices.
- Experience in environmental compliance, auditing, or site services within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and environmental reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Excel).
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence change and promote best practices.
