We are a construction company based in Donegal. Due to continued growth of the company we now have both junior and senior site engineer positions available.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the project team in the successful delivery of the project, ensuring compliance with the contract requirements, and all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Levelling and setting out of the works, utilising total station, GPS or equivalent and ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided.
- Record keeping of site activities, including diary, allocation sheets, outputs, photographs, as-built surveys etc.
- Assist with managing the site safety file, including site inductions, and toolbox talks etc.
- Develop commercial awareness under quantity surveyor’s guidance.
- Assist with programme management (MS Project), progress reports, technical queries, and registers.
- Test materials as directed by your supervisor/line manager in accordance with the relevant specifications.
- Quality reviews on site with regard to rebar and concrete placement.
- Review of technical submissions prior to upload to design team to ensure that the correct areas of work are addressed.
- Coordinate with site manager to coordinate works within a busy location
- Record all daily activities, relevant information and occurrences in your site diary
- Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment as necessary
- Maximize profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work events.
- Follow directions and attend meetings as required.
- Liaise in a professional manner with all project team to include client, consultants, regulatory bodies, utility companies and the general public etc.
Requirements:
- Third Level qualification in Engineering, Surveying or related qualification.
- Relevant main contractor experience. (experience on social house developments would be a distinct advantage)
- Organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Broad knowledge and experience of relevant industry standards, specifications, regulations, contract documents, and works methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full clean Irish/EU driving license.
- Ambition, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
