As a valued member of the Global Modelling Centre (GMC), you will play an important role in SCOR’s Life and Health (L&H) Reserving modelling strategy to deliver a transformation vision for modelling tools and processes, and ensuring best practice is adopted globally across all our modelling teams.
A key element to the role will be to provide modelling expertise to optimise, simplify and transform SCOR’s L&H Reserving modelling capabilities and help the Global Modelling Centre own key stakeholder relationships in relation to modelling, including with IT and Data functions, and the L&H reserving teams. You will also support L&H Reserving colleagues to further develop or enhance their skills in Prophet, Milliman Mind and other modelling tools.
The Global Modelling Centre is a key part of the Global Reserving Centre (GRC) within SCOR’s L&H Reserving team. The GRC team is based across the US, Dublin, London, Paris and Singapore, responsible for managing global reserving topics, providing guidance & direct support to SCOR’s L&H reserving teams worldwide, delivering thought leadership and insights on actuarial drivers of performance, leading activity on SCORs L&H reserving strategy and providing actuarial support on projects.
- Contribute to the development and ownership of the global modelling strategy for L&H reserving, supporting delivery of the vision for target tools and modelling processes.
- Develop a deep understanding of modelling processes in all markets. Provide direct support and guidance to local modelling teams. Suggest improvements to models/processes, consulting on possible approaches, providing expertise, developing prototypes and examples where relevant
- Supporting L&H Reserving colleagues to further develop or enhance their skills in Prophet, Milliman Mind and other modelling tools.
- Support the GMC’s global relationship with IT, ensuring the required support, reliability and performance is delivered to the modelling and reserving teams. Coordinate across the modelling teams in relation to IT topics.
- Support the GMC’s global relationship with the Data Platform team, connecting L&H Reserving into the global data strategy, focusing on the specific needs of the reserving function. Suggest improvements and develop solutions to optimise the use of quality data in L&H Reserving.
- Work closely with other teams in the Global Reserving Centre to collaborate and coordinate on key transformational initiatives and opportunities
- Help to maintain GMC’s modelling guidelines to ensure all local modelling teams adhere to best practice in terms of coding standards, control & governance frameworks and documentation.
- Provide support to regional modelling projects as required.
- Some travel to other SCOR office locations will be required.
Experience:
- Qualified Actuary (FIA, FSA or equivalent) with several years relevant experience
- Experience of building & optimizing actuarial modelling tools and processes.
- Expertise with actuarial projection software such as Prophet (required), AXIS, Milliman Mind.
- Experience in programming tools such as Python (preferred)
- Experience in working on projects, workstreams and/or teams; collaborating with senior stakeholders.
- Experience in training others on new software, tools and processes.
