Role Purpose:


The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing various day-to-day human resources tasks across multiple functions such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development and HR administration within the Talent Development function. This role is engaged across the key pillars of Talent Development, Learning and Development and Talent Management with specific emphasis on the Early Career Pipeline.
Successful candidates have the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the CIPD specialist areas of Talent Management and Learning and Development, as contained in the CIPD framework.

General Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the three key pillars within Talent Development
  • Support the Early Career Pipeline Manager across the full HR requirements of this cohort
  • Support the full HR life cycle of recruitment, onboarding, visa applications, performance management, learning and development of this cohort
  • Manage candidate communications and multiple communication channels
  • Analyse data from a range of reports, systems and feedback loops to identify areas for continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and HRIS entries
  • Support audits and reporting requirements
  • Assist in implementing learning and development requirements
  • Assist in managing the performance review cycle for the Early Career Pipeline
  • Deliver HR information clinics for the Early Career Pipeline
  • Attend selective Career Fairs to promote opportunities within Irish Rail
  • Support marketing initiatives

Key Skills & Qualities:

Essential :

  • Human Resources Qualification
  • Interviewing experience
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Employment Legislation
  • Ability to build relationships, interact sensitively and use effective networks
  • Experience of performance management
  • Excellent computer, administration and analytical skills

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with psychometric testing
  • Knowledge of the ED&I framework
  • Experience with a HRIS system
  • Knowledge of Critical Skills visa requirements and process
  • Previous experience supporting an Early Career Pipeline (Graduates, Apprentices, Interns)
