Product Applications Engineer
Analog Devices is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its Isolation Products group based in Limerick or Milan.

We are seeking a talented and motivated engineer to join our global applications team supporting ADI’s iCoupler® isolation ICs. You will work closely with experienced engineers to contribute to the definition and development of product and system-level solutions from our innovative iCoupler® portfolio. Our portfolio delivers best-in-class patented digital isolation technology for data, high power isolated dc-to-dc converters and communication protocols ranging from RS485, USB and CAN. The role of the applications engineer spans from supporting customer design-ins across multiple end markets including Industrial, Instrumentation and Healthcare.
Roles & Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Customer collaboration & support
- Drive customer engagement to understand technical requirements and help solve design-in queries.
- Be an advocate for the customer within the development teams to ensure customer-centric decisions.
- Collateral development for easy adoption of products in all markets
- Datasheets & Evaluation Kits to provide a seamless customer experience with our products.
- Reference Design & Demonstrations targeted at end market applications.
- Targeted training material for sales force, distribution partners and customers
- Articles & tech notes to describe product functionality, system level capabilities & feature sets.
- Perform product bench marking & competitive analysis.
- New product Definitions
- Use understanding of customer issues and requirements to identify portfolio gaps and new direct product definitions.
- Work with advanced technology team to scope out new technology ideas to develop next generation products.
- Work with marketing team to develop robust business case for new products.
- System level Understanding & Measurements
- Understand system level certification requirements and develop certification strategies.
- Verify system level capability on the bench, with a focus on product robustness.
- Development Team member
- Close engagement with Isolation development team to deliver concise understanding of customer requirements.
The ideal candidate should have:
- A strong technical background in mixed signal electronics.
- Experience with customers and proven record of customer-centric approach.
- Experience working across the full life cycle of products, from concept to end-of-life.
- Strong analytical skills. Ability to solve complex problems through design of appropriate experiments and analysis of complex data.
- Experience with communication protocols like USB, JESD, PCIe would be beneficial
- Experience with robustness requirements & testing would be beneficial – EMI/EMC, CMTI etc.
- Good initiative and motivation in a challenging environment.
- Strong teamwork, inter-personal and communication skills are essential.
- Ideally have 5+ years’ experience in an Applications Engineering role.
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
