Marsh McLennan, the world's leading professional services firm in risk, strategy and people, is looking for a “Lead Solution Architect for Innovation & Services” to join the Global Technology Engineering & Enterprise Architecture team (TE2A).
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Solution Architect to join our newly formed strategic cutting-edge Innovation Center and Business & Client Service teams. In this role, we will rely on you to provide visionary technical leadership ensuring the best approaches (both AI and traditional) are being leveraged as well as always being on the lookout for how we can apply new technologies or techniques to drive excellence and further accelerate our development. This is a senior-level individual contributor role bringing ideas into reality with our agile teams. The ideal candidate will be deeply technical, have a proven track record of delivery, architecture guidance and the ability to find effective solutions to complex challenges.
The Technology Engineering & Enterprise Architecture (TE2A) group is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of business aligned technical strategies that reduce technical debt, accelerate delivery and drive innovation across the entire Enterprise.

What can you expect:
As a member of the Global Technology Engineering & Enterprise Architecture team (TE2A), you will join a group of highly experienced senior individuals who provide technical leadership, establish designs and deliver the best solution approaches collaboratively with teams. This highly selective group is now further enriching its effectiveness with the introduction of the “Lead Solution Architect for Innovation & Services” role.
We will count on you to:
- Provide Technical Leadership for numerous agile dev teams.
- Partner with Technical Leaders across Innovation and the Business.
- Develop the overall architecture of applications and shared components.
- Ensure the best approach/technology is being leveraged.
- Incorporate reuse, standardisation and security-by-design into your solution designs to simplify, secure and accelerate technology delivery.
- Ensure alignment with Enterprise Technical Strategy and Standards.
- Work with the agile teams to ensure the implementation aligns with the Design.
- Support diagnosis of incidents and problem management.
- Provide architectural direction and ongoing guidance throughout the full agile lifecycle.
- Leverage strategic or emerging technologies.
What you need to have:
- Passion for technology and always looking to understand the next big thing.
- 5+ years’ Application or Solution Architecture experience designing cloud-based applications and microservices.
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology (or similar working experience).
- Extensive software development experience (Node, Python, .Net, Mongo, SQL, React, Angular, Kubernetes, Serverless).
- Strong foundation in Cloud core concepts and Modern Development approaches.
- Delivery focused approach and an appetite for change.
- REST API and Shared Services Principles.
- Ability to operate at scale and with senior stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical peers across MMC.
- Strong technical background and can engage in deep technical discussions, effectively summarise, and contribute.
- Ability to create designs using UML and standard Architectural notations.
- Agile/Scrum Experience.
