Position Summary
As Maître d’ of the Douglas Hyde Restaurant, you will be the face of the dining experience, responsible for ensuring a seamless, memorable, and consistently high-quality service for all guests. You will lead the front-of-house team with charisma and precision, manage reservations, greet and seat guests, and oversee the flow of service in close collaboration with the kitchen and bar teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome all guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a first-class impression from arrival to departure.
- Manage reservations and table allocations, maximizing seating efficiency while maintaining service standards.
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in supervising the daily operation of the Douglas Hyde Restaurant, ensuring smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Lead and motivate the front-of-house team, providing training, support, and clear direction.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and F&B team to maintain the highest standards of food, wine, and service quality.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints gracefully and promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness, ambiance, and presentation of the restaurant in line with 4-star luxury standards.
- Coordinate with Sales teams regarding special occasions, group bookings, and VIP guests.
- Uphold and promote Kilronan Castle’s standards of hospitality, etiquette, and attention to detail.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or Maître d’ role within a fine dining or 4/5-star environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a natural flair for guest interaction.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong knowledge of food and wine service, fine dining etiquette, and reservation systems.
- Calm under pressure, with the ability to lead by example and resolve issues.
- Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a luxury setting.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
