Accountabilities:

• Build and maintain robust expertise in relevant therapeutic areas through continuous education and active monitoring of scientific literature.
• Implement local medical plans aligned with brand strategies to address unmet medical needs.
• Engage with key opinion leaders and enhance relationships within specific therapy areas.
• Provide medical-scientific training and education for AstraZeneca employees.
• Offer medical and clinical expertise to support brand strategy and product lifecycle management.
• Coordinate and implement scientific events and educational initiatives for healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with the Market Access team on scientific communication with healthcare authorities.
• Respond to medical and scientific queries alongside the Medical Information/Patient Safety team.
• Manage Early Access medicine requests according to local policy.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Minimum: Clinical/Life Sciences Degree or 2+ years of relevant experience in medical affairs within a pharmaceutical company
• Strong understanding of respiratory and immunology vaccines and immunotherapies, cardiovascular, renal, and metabolism therapeutic areas or ability to acquire this knowledge rapidly
• Professional experience in the healthcare industry
• High-level scientific knowledge and ability to analyze clinical and scientific data
• Strong communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences
• Excellent project management ability
• Experience liaising with healthcare professionals
• Quick self-learner, standout colleague, and independent worker
• Driving license and willingness to drive within Ireland

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Experience as an MSL or equivalent experience in Medical Affairs within the mentioned therapeutic areas
• Engagement with healthcare regulatory authorities
• Experience in pre-launch, peri-launch, and post-launch phases of product lifecycle management
• Knowledge of local regulatory and market access requirements related to medical affairs activities
• Understanding of legal and ethical frameworks for medicinal product promotion and approval in Ireland
