As a Medical Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting healthcare professionals by providing efficient administrative and secretarial services. You will ensure the smooth running of the office and contribute to high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to doctors and medical staff
- Type medical letters, reports, and referrals using audio dictation or handwritten notes
- Manage patient records and update the clinical database
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, tests, and follow-ups
- Liaise with hospitals, consultants, and other healthcare providers
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence professionally
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies
- Assist with filing, scanning, and general administrative duties
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience as a medical secretary or in a healthcare admin role
- Excellent typing, IT, and communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and a high degree of confidentiality
