Role Summary:
We are looking for an ambitious and driven Merchandiser to join our dynamic team at Life Style Sports. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment.
As a Merchandiser, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the merchandising strategy for your concept area. You will be responsible for leading the planning and buying process, managing stock and product intake, and maximising profitability through the achievement of business KPIs. You will partner closely with the Buying & Merchandising team to drive sales, increase margins, and deliver commercial success, while also supporting the growth and development of junior team members.
The ideal candidate will bring a keen eye for detail, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to introduce fresh ideas to enhance the buying and merchandising process. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact within a collaborative and supportive team
Role Responsibilities:
Open to Buy Process
· Play a crucial role in working with our Buying Teams to determine future Buying Strategies based on detailed range analytics for each area.
· Manage the on system planning of Quarterly OTB Budgets based on future sales estimates for multiple Hierarchy levels.
· Space / Options Planning for each Hierarchy level - Analysing product sales with the buying team to ensure the most efficient use of space in store each Season.
· Present OTB Summaries and forward sales plans at a Business at Hierarchy level at quarterly Brand sign offs.
· Cross Concept Reporting
· Manage the Daily Business process feeding back any additional risk or opportunities to the business.
Stock Management
· Management of company stock position through monitoring intake and cancellations to achieve company profitability targets.
· Control of order books and future commitment in conjunction with business targets.
· Management of in season stock commitments based on current sales trends.
· Actioning weekly and seasonal price events
Other:
· Providing insights to current trading performance and recommending trading actions to capitalise on opportunities and to minimize risks.
· Developing and maintaining good relationships with our third-party logistics partner, brands and internal stakeholders.
· Production of ad hoc sales analysis to support business decision making.
· Preparation & distribution of core business reports.
· Work closely with the IT function making recommendations on future reporting and system upgrades.
· Regularly visit stores to receive feedback on opportunities to drive sales.
· Management and development of junior members of the merchandising team.
Key Requirements:
· A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Fashion or Sports Retail Omni-Channel Environment
· Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., D365, AGR) BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Business Objects) and Microsoft Office.
· Strong numeric, data/analytical, financial, and organisational skills.
· Experience in use of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
