Person Specification:
- A minimum of 3–5 years of progressive fast food (pizza) management experience is required, as well as at least 2 years of multi-site fast food (pizza) management experience.
- Demonstrates principled leadership and sound business sense
- Delegates tasks to the most appropriate Managercan remain in control in difficult situations
- Communicates restaurant goals and a motivating vision; links individual General Management performance to achieving restaurant goals.
- Provides clear direction and authority and is assertive
- Regularly coaches Management to drive for results, and is a role model in his display of professionalism
- Mindful of the crossover between Supermac’s & Papa John's, loves both brands, drives the Papa John's brand.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Operations Manager provides overall leadership and supervision to the entire pizza staff of the restaurants in his/her area to ensure that the restaurant meets or exceeds the targets established for their unit. The Operations Manager oversees the pizza operations within each store, to ensure KPIs are achieved, in terms of quality, the quantity of deliveries, delivery times, the accuracy of orders, and ongoing business development objectives to positively impact the success of Papa John's within the Supermac’s Group.
Sound leadership ensures stores are operating to company standards as set in the Papa John's Operations Manual. Support from the Supermac’s Operations Team/Marketing/HR/Managing Director is given when needed to facilitate alignment of goals with those of the overall company; however, the Papa John's Operations Manager largely dictates the specific day-to-day operations of the pizza area. Within that scope fall many key functions such as budgeting, staffing, training, marketing, community involvement, inventory control, labor control, onboarding of drivers, etc.
The Operations Manager will also be responsible for driving the business in his/her location, continuously striving to expand and promote the brand at all levels.
THE JOB:
- Demonstrate exemplary managerial and operations skills whilst ensuring a standard of quality and ensuring efficient, accurate delivery of products to customers, whilst adhering to and ensuring compliance with Papa John’s policies, practices, and procedures.
- Effectively utilising company resources, scheduling, deploying and managing training, providing necessary resources, and constantly working to better the KPIs within their restaurant operations whilst developing strong working relationships with corporate departments and operations team, and deployment of new product training.
- Provide quality customer service to build and maintain a customer base; create and participate in customer-oriented programmes and maintain a strong presence in the community; professionally and promptly respond to customer concerns or issues, including customer complaints received through Head Office; ensure appropriate and timely resolution of customer concerns or issues. Solicit customer feedback, share feedback with the team, and use feedback to improve restaurants’ operations and build brand loyalty.
- Set the tone for a high-performing, positive, and quality-focused market by recruiting, developing, rewarding, and retaining the best operations leaders in the industry; maintain adequate staffing levels; communicate performance expectations and conduct performance reviews
- Ensures market profitability by demonstrating exemplary managerial and operations skills including making quality products; adhering to and ensuring compliance with Papa John’s policies, practices, and procedures by effectively utilising company resources, monitoring training, providing necessary resources, and regularly visiting restaurants; completing administrative duties; monitoring proper delivery area sizes; and remaining current on operational changes and deploying changes utilising market resources.
- Identifies new opportunities for sales growth; implements effective targeted marketing and district developmental strategies and plans to meet or exceed financial and business objectives; supports region and company direction; and monitors the execution of the plans and adjusts as necessary.
- Plans, organises, and directs all activities to ensure successful new store openings and relocations, duties to include but not limited to: recruiting, staffing, training, advertising and marketing, pre-opening runs, and grand opening celebrations.
