At McBreen Environmental Drain Services Ltd , we’re seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to manage and process payroll for our employees across Ireland and the UK. If you're an experienced payroll professional with a strong understanding of compliance, deadlines, and systems, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Process weekly, fortnightly, monthly payrolls with accuracy and on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with bothIrish (PAYE, PRSI, USC, pensions) and UK (PAYE, NICs, pensions, student loans) payroll obligations.
- Assist with month-end payroll reconciliations and reporting.
- Handle day-to-day payroll matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Ensure employees receive secure payslips via email or self-service portals.
- Oversee new employee onboarding and leaver processes from a payroll perspective.
- Accurately calculate taxes, Benefits in Kind (BIK) and other relevant payments.
- Ensure timely and accurate HMRC and Revenue submissions, including FPS, EPS, and RTI for the UK.
- Monitor and maintain Holiday and Bank Hour Balances.
- Provide support to the HR function, ensuring payroll data is aligned with HR systems and processes.
- Stay up to date with payroll legislation changes in Ireland and the UK, advising management of any updates or risks.
Key Requirements:
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar payroll role.
- Strong knowledge of Irish and UK payroll legislation.
- Experience using payroll software (e.g., Sage, BrightPay, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
