Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Limerick team as a Procurement Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career or looking to transition into procurement. Full training will be provided. In this role, you will support our procurement operations across engineering and project teams, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of materials and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance
- RFQ Management: Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs); support review of vendor proposals and negotiation of pricing and terms
- Vendor Management: Help maintain strong relationships with suppliers and assist in resolving any supply-related issues
- Technical Collaboration: Work alongside project and engineering teams to ensure purchased items meet required specifications
- Contract Support: Assist in negotiating commercial terms, including pricing, lead times, and payment conditions
- Cost Awareness: Contribute to identifying cost-saving opportunities while upholding quality and reliability
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure procurement records are accurate and aligned with internal procedures and industry standards
- Risk Awareness: Support the identification and mitigation of procurement risks such as supply disruptions
- Reporting: Help generate procurement reports including vendor performance, cost tracking, and delivery timelines
Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced, supportive environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems is a plus but not required
- Full, clean driver’s licence is required
- Forklift licence is a strong advantage
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with internal teams
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €32,000.00-€36,000.00 per year
