About the job:

As a Project Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery and integration of street-based services for individuals experiencing rough sleeping in Dublin City. Working closely with the Outreach Service Manager, you will take the lead on specific projects and complex cases, while ensuring high-quality case management and effective client progression.

Your main objective will be to implement and deliver Care and Case Management protocols that support individuals in accessing appropriate accommodation and long-term housing options following engagement with the Outreach Team. You will case manage a set number of clients, work collaboratively with external services, and contribute to harm reduction and housing-led interventions.

Location: Dublin City Centre.

Working Hours: Monday – Sunday. 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: Depending on experience from €36,500 to €42,500

Responsibilities:

1. Case Management & Outreach

  • Implement Care and Case Management processes and protocols.
  • Case manages 20 clients: develop and implement their support plans.
  • Carry out assessments with rough sleepers and provide follow-up support to access short- and long-term accommodation, treatment, and medical services.
  • Use evidence-based techniques such as motivational interviewing to explore clients’ motivation to change.
  • Deliver the Emergency Needle Exchange Programme and other street-based harm reduction interventions.
  • Provide in-reach and outreach to rough sleepers and people at risk of rough sleeping.
  • Ensure clients are consulted and involved in the operation of the project wherever possible.
  • Engage with and build professional, trusting relationships with clients.
  • Identify and manage risks, ensuring client protection.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

2. Project Management and Service Delivery

  • Work closely with the Outreach Service Manager and lead on key projects and complex cases.
  • Lead assigned projects within the Outreach Team.
  • Ensure a high-quality, effective service that promotes client progression and sustainability.
  • Be responsible for achieving goals set by the organisational strategy and local scorecard.
  • Induct new team members and provide on-the-job training and guidance.
  • Respond to and participate in media and fundraising requests.

3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve service and client targets.
  • Collaborate and partner with other voluntary and statutory agencies to ensure effective communication and flexible practices that reduce barriers to support and housing.
  • Build strong community relationships and resources to enhance continuity of care.
  • Use PASS and other data systems to record and manage client information.
  • Perform administrative duties to support effective and timely service delivery.

Requirements

Minimum job requirements:

  • Degree in Social Care, Psychology, or related field
  • 3+ years in social care
  • Driving licence
  • Key working & case management skills
  • Knowledge of harm reduction & rough sleeping
  • Caseload & time management
  • Strong communication & teamwork
  • Experience with stakeholders
  • Risk management & health & safety awareness
  • Leadership, initiative, problem-solving
  • Skilled in advocacy & support planning
  • Passionate, flexible, eager to learn

Preferred job requirements:

  • Qualified in key working or case management
  • Experience in harm reduction with active drug users
  • Health & safety inspection experience
