Glancy Enviro is one of Ireland’s leading environmental and drainage service providers. We’re proud to be officially Great Place to Work® Certified, a recognition of our positive workplace culture, employee wellbeing, and strong values.
Our expert services include drain maintenance, CCTV surveys, repairs and relining, septic tank services, pest control, and environmental compliance. As our business continues to grow, we’re expanding our pump services division—and looking for an experienced Pump Engineer to help drive that growth.
Role Overview
As a Pump Engineer at Glancy Enviro, you’ll play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and upgrading pump systems for domestic and commercial clients across Ireland. You’ll be the go-to expert on wastewater and water-delivery pumps, ensuring systems are efficient, compliant, and well-documented.
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing & Maintenance
Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on a wide range of pump systems, including wastewater treatment pumps and potable/non-potable delivery pumps.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs
Diagnose and repair faults (mechanical, electrical, and control-related), carrying out on-site fixes or coordinating workshop repairs.
- Installations & Upgrades
Specify, install and commission new pump sets, pipework, and controls; advise clients on performance improvements and regulatory compliance (e.g., Irish Water, EPA).
- Documentation & Compliance
Complete accurate service reports, maintenance logs, and risk assessments in line with Health & Safety, environmental and hygiene standards.
- Division Development
Identify opportunities for new services (e.g., telemetry monitoring, energy-efficient retrofits) and collaborate with management on implementation—with future scope to lead a growing team.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years’ experience with pumps in wastewater or potable-water systems.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills; familiarity with basic PLCs/control panels, P&IDs and technical manuals.
- Recognised trade qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Electrician) or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Full, clean Irish/EEA Category B driving licence.
- Safe Pass and confined-space certifications are advantageous (training provided if not in place).
- Professional communicator with both residential and commercial clients.
- Self-starter with commercial awareness and a flexible attitude to travel and out-of-hours work
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (dependent on experience), with overtime and on-call premiums.
- Company van, fuel card, mobile phone and tablet.
- Ongoing training and certification support.
- Genuine career progression opportunities as the pump division grows.
