Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in an Engineering Design Office (or similar)
- You must be proficient using Revit, experience using AutoCAD and be capable of preparing detailed technical designs & drawings to an exceptional standard
- A good knowledge of Robot, Staad PRO-QSE or similar is essential
- Full working knowledge of British and Eurocode Design Standards for Concrete, Steel, Masonry and Timber
- Be able to prioritise, work to tight deadlines and deliver projects on time
- Excellent written and verbal communication (fluent in English)
- Self-motivated with great attention to detail
Responsibilities
1. Revit Modelling and Drafting
- Develop and manage comprehensive structural models and detailed drawings in Revit, adhering to project standards and timelines.
- Ensure high-quality and precise outputs that meet engineering and architectural specifications.
2. Design Coordination
- Collaborate with internal and external design teams, including architects and building services engineers, to integrate structural designs seamlessly into project models.
- Resolve design conflicts and ensure alignment between disciplines through regular coordination meetings and reviews.
3. Stakeholder Communication
- Act as a liaison between engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to interpret design intent and incorporate feedback into Revit models and drawings.
4. Quality Assurance
- Verify the accuracy of models and drawings, ensuring they meet industry standards, project requirements, and structural integrity.
- Perform clash detection and resolve issues within Revit to maintain model accuracy and coordination.
5. Adaptability and Revisions
- Update and revise models and drawings to accommodate design changes, enhancements, and stakeholder input while maintaining project deadlines.
- Proactively address and resolve design challenges during project development.
6. Mentorship and Support
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices in Revit and structural modeling.
7. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain thorough documentation of design processes, changes, and updates in Revit to support project management and delivery.
- Generate reports and schedules directly from Revit models as needed.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with advancements in Revit, BIM practices, and relevant engineering software to enhance efficiency and innovation in structural design.
9. Other Duties
- Perform other job-related tasks as required to support the team and meet project goals.
This role is critical in ensuring that structural designs are both innovative and functional while fostering collaboration within a multidisciplinary design environment.
QEHS MS Responsibilities
- Comply with SDS Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) Management System requirements, i.e. perform work according to process documents and procedures, and maintain document information/complete department forms/records as required.
- Understand and apply the SDS Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety policy statements in all aspects of work.
- Contribute towards achieving company’s SDS QEHS objectives.
- Ensure that the needs and requirements of the company’s internal staff and customers are understood and delivered.
- Help develop and improve the company’s internal processes and management system by reporting corrective actions, updates and improvement ideas.
