The Opportunity

Arup is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to support our growing industry leading team in Dublin and Cork. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in geo-environmental consulting or a related field. This role involves leading complex projects, providing expert advice, and contributing to the growth and development of our geo-environmental services.


As a Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant at Arup, you will:

  • Lead and manage geo-environmental projects from inception to completion.
    • Conduct site assessments and risk assessments
    • Design and procure geo-environmental site investigations,
    • Manage and supervise ground investigations
    • Prepare risk assessments (GQRA and DQRA)
    • Advise on soil reuse, and prepare Regulation 27 and Regulation 28 applications.
    • Develop and implement remediation strategies.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff.
  • Liaise with clients (internal and external), stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare detailed reports e.g. PSA, DQRA and EIAR
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Have has experience of successful managing the financial delivery of projects (or geo-environmental elements of projects)
  • Have a commercial awareness and have contributed to the business development and client relationship management
  • Membership and active participation in relevant professional/industry bodies (e.g. IBN, IAH, EI, IGI, or their equivalents) is an advantage)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field (Level 9 Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in geo-environmental consulting or a similar role.
  • Strong Knowledge of Irish environmental regulations and standards.
  • Proven track record in project management and team leadership both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Should be Chartered Environmental Consultant, Chartered Engineer, Professional Geologist or be close to achieving the same
