This is a fixed-term position, with flexible working hours to accommodate full-time, part-time, or flexi-time preferences.
About Us
We are a well-established small animal practice based in the scenic town of Killarney, Co. Kerry. Founded in 1983, we’ve been providing high-quality, compassionate veterinary care to local pets for over four decades.
Our clinic is fully equipped to deliver a broad range of services including:
- Laparoscopic procedures
- Orthopaedic surgeries
- In-house diagnostic imaging and laboratory (x-ray, blood analysers)
- Full dental facilities
We’re a small, experienced team and our approach is very much centred around personalised, long-term relationships with clients, with an emphasis on continuity of care and building trust in the community.
Key Responsibilities
This is a varied nursing role involving both clinical and client-facing duties, including:
- Nurse consultations: including post-op checks, weight clinics, dental checks, puppy and kitten health advice, and other preventative care services
- Anaesthesia monitoring and patient prep for surgical and diagnostic procedures
- Inpatient care: monitoring, administering medications, fluid therapy, and patient observation
- Reception and client support: assisting with bookings, taking calls, updating records, and managing client enquiries
- General clinic maintenance: ensuring equipment is clean and functional, stock control, and supporting day-to-day clinic operations
You’ll have the opportunity to work in all areas of practice, develop your skills further, and contribute to a team that genuinely values high standards and teamwork.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re open to applications from:
- Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) or those with equivalent qualifications
- Recent graduates looking to build confidence in a supportive, hands-on setting
- Experienced nurses seeking a more flexible, community-focused role
- Locum nurses looking for some short-term structure
A good attitude, willingness to work as part of a small team, and a genuine interest in patient care are more important to us than years of experience.
