We’re currently searching for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our ranks and continue our tradition of success. This person will lead collection & related accounts receivable reporting activities for the entity, as well as supporting the finance team across multiple areas of transaction processing, including specified Month End activities, such as Expense Processing, Accounts Payable, Accruals & Prepayments and other Ad hoc tasks as necessary.
About you:
- The candidate must be based in Ireland to be considered for this position.
- 3-5 years AR / Month End experience, or as an Accounts Assistant in a similar-sized business.
- Good organisational skills, able to prioritise effectively & escalate as necessary.
- Proactive & effective communicator, able to communicate both internally within the business and externally to clients & customers.
- Team player, ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other team members, in pursuit of financial objectives.
- Competent IT skills, including a proficiency in the use of Excel.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Part-qualified ACCA/ ACA / Accounting Technician or similar qualification a plus.
Your day-to-day activities:
- Own Accounts Receivable collection activities on a daily & monthly basis, including:
- Follow up on open receivable amounts with customers, responding to customer queries and liaising with the business as necessary to facilitate receipt of funds.
- Application of cash receipts to customer accounts.
- Invoice raising following receipt of invoice request & recognition of invoicing in the system.
- Issuance of invoices to customers, accompanied with required supporting documentation obtained from the business, through required channels, i.e. portals/emails.
- Monthly reporting on AR ageing profile, top ten customer analysis, etc., in a specified format.
- Issuance of AR statements as requested by customers.
- Escalation of collection issues/challenges in a timely manner to leadership.
- Support management to establish appropriate credit limits & AR policies.
- Provide additional month-end & transactional support to the team across expenses, accounts payable, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, as assigned.
- Own the bank reconciliation process, all bank accounts.
- Supporting Visa / Expense analysis as required, and recording monthly journals arising from such analysis.
- Support annual statutory audit requests in assigned areas.
- Support ad hoc tasks, including new system implementation, and ad hoc support requests from other members of the finance team.
- Drive process improvements in areas of responsibility and through engagement with the finance team as a whole.
- Own procedure documentation in areas of responsibility
