Role Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for developing, delivering and managing the daily operations of the setting in order to ensure a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for children, in line with all regulatory requirements
- In depth knowledge of children’s age and stage appropriate holistic needs and development
- Dedicated to raising standards in early learning and care and will role model best practice to an outstanding level
- Ability to implement the company’s curriculum demonstrating the links between early childcare education theory and practice in line with the National Curriculum Framework of Aistear and the National Quality Framework of Siolta
- Ability to take responsibility to put into effect all company policies, procedures, health and safety / risk assessments as stipulated in the Childcare Regulations
- Effective people and business management skills with the confidence and skills to cover all business aspects of the role
- Excellent knowledge of and ability to implement child protection policies in line with Children First requirements and guidelines
- Lead on the development and evaluation of programmes and activities conducive to culturally sensitive learning environments
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have the following:
- A minimum of FETAC / QQI Level 5 in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent
- A minimum of five years in the childcare field and it is desirable that at least two year of these are in a supervisory role within the sector
- A strong passion for the needs and development of the individual child
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Ability to liaise with parents, guardians and families and build parental partnership
- Ability to line manage and supervise a team, supporting their continuous personal development
- Communicate effectively in a clear and professional manner at all times
- Manage and project occupancy levels
- Ability to meet targets and deadlines and manage finances within an allocated budget
- Have a full understanding off all guidelines as set out by TUSLA.
Applicants must be willing to provide written references and be Garda Vetted by the company (Police Clearance will also be required if the applicant have lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 consecutive months since over the age of 18).Proof of eligibility to work in the EU must be also provided if relevant.
