As part of our expanding operations, we are recruiting a Temporary Building Manager with a strong on-site presence for 3/4 months to oversee the daily operations of a significant development in Cork.

Position Overview
We are currently seeking a customer-focused Building Manager with a strong on-site presence to join our dynamic team. As the Building Manager, you will be the central point of contact for tenants, their employees, visitors, contractors, and the property management company, ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment that delivers a consistently positive experience for everyone on site. You will manage the day-to-day operation of the building, coordinate third-party service providers, manage administrative responsibilities, and uphold all safety and compliance standards, while contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the development..
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for delivering best-in-class service in a high-end environment. You’ll work independently on-site, but with the support and training of the SOS Group’s wider team. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in facilities management who thrives in a customer-facing environment. You should be self-motivated, well-organised, and confident managing a variety of service providers and daily tasks.
Main Responsibilities:
- Foster a positive professional, and welcoming atmosphere within the building while delivering exceptional customer services for both employees and visitors, using your on-site presence to provide leadership
- Act as the primary on-site point of contact for all resident enquiries, concerns, and feedback resolving issues with confidence and authority.
- Overseeing all services , encompassing both hard and soft aspects, and managing third-party service providers . This includes security , M&E, cleaning , consumables, waste management , window cleaning and landscaping contractors.
- Complying with all Health and Safety and Environmental Management policies and procedures, which are subject to annual audits for each property.
- Coordinate and supervise third-party contractors to ensure high service standards.
- Reviewing risk assessment and ensuring the Permit to Work Procedure is followed.
- Maintain the appearance and condition of all communal areas to a high standard with regular on-site inspections and follow-ups.
- Report and track any defects, maintenance issues, or hazards for resolution.
- Provide regular updates and reports on building operations, resident feedback, and contractor performance.
- Cultivate robust relationship with occupants through efficient communication and timely resolution of any issues raised instilling confidence through a professional and assured presence..
- Monitor service delivery against agreed budgets and support the preparation of service charge budgets when required.
- Coordinate tenant move-ins, ensuring all building processes, health and safety requirements, and compliance standards are followed.
- Assist with project planning for new tenants and oversee building improvements or refurbishments.
- Ensure all projects and works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to engage professionally with residents and stakeholders at all levels while projecting credibility and confidence.
- Highly organised with strong time management abilities; capable of prioritising tasks across multiple service areas.
- Proactive in identifying issues and resolving them efficiently taking ownership with a strong presence in decision-making.
- Basic understanding of building systems (e.g., fire alarms, lifts, access control) and service delivery in a multi-unit residential setting.
- Calm, courteous, and composed in all interactions especially when dealing with resident concerns or emergencies providing reassurance through a steady and authoritative presence.
