About the Role:

Royal London Ireland (“RLI DAC”) is seeking applications for a Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) to join our Executive Team in Dublin. Reporting to the CEO and serving as an Executive Director on the Board, the CFO will lead the Finance function, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. The role supports long-term value creation by providing expert financial insight and partnering with the Executive Team to drive sustainable business performance. The role is a Pre-Approval Control Function under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness & Probity Regime – PCF-1 and PCF-11.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Executive Director on the Board of RLI DAC, contributing to the strategic leadership and governance of the business.
  • Lead the Finance team in delivering accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and planning aligned with RLI’s strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal governance standards.
  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive commercial performance and capital efficiency.
  • Represent RLI’s financial interests in Royal London group-level discussions and external engagements, including with regulators and auditors.
  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative finance culture that supports talent development and continuous improvement.

Criteria

  • Extensive finance senior leadership experience such as CFO level, or as a senior finance leader within a life and pensions organisation, or through senior-level insurance experience within a Big 4 professional services firm.
  • Deep knowledge of financial reporting, capital management, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong influencing skills at executive and board level.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and industry networks.
  • High ethical standards, sound judgement, and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Member of recognised accountancy or actuarial body.
