We have a great opportunity for a Cluster Human Resources Manager to join us in the Dublin Cluster at Leonardo Hotels. Reporting to the Assistant Group HR Manager, and managing a small HR team, you would provide quality HR leadership, support, coaching and guidance for your cluster, and support the Group HR team in all areas of delivering the HR strategy.

You’ll be primarily based in Leonardo Hotel Christchurch Dublin, and be able to travel to other properties within your cluster where necessary. Due to the operational nature of our business, presence is important in our hotels and offices, however we are open to discussing flexible working options including working from home one day a week where required.

Here are some of the role’s key responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Selection: Getting the right people is key to our success and we are looking for a Cluster HR Manager who can offer coaching to hiring managers on recruitment activities, develop the hotels’ succession plans and manage the Labour Turnover Strategy for the cluster
  • Compliance: Getting the basics right is really important to us. As Cluster HR Manager, you will ensure the implementation of people related policies and procedures, best practice and current legislation, and take ownership for such procedures ensuring that all managers are compliant including all right to work documentation and working time procedures
  • Learning and Development: We are proud of our Learning and Development programs and have an array of opportunities and training for all levels of employees. As Cluster HR Manager, you will monitor and communicate all training within teams and ensure personal development plans are in action for employees, identify local training needs, and oversee group induction process
  • Payroll: Our line managers take first line responsibility for ensuring their team’s working hours are processed correctly, however the HR team are responsible for processing weekly/monthly payroll, including monthly sign off, and supporting the General Managers with preparing the annual payroll budget and bonus plans. In HR, you would as escalation point for any payroll queries
  • Employee Relations: As Cluster HR Manager, you will provide leadership in all aspects of employment law, which would include coaching line managers with investigations and any other formal meetings, and advise management teams in all aspects of people management. Employee wellbeing is at the heart of what we do, and making time for quality conversations, listening to employees and feeling confident in signposting them appropriately is really important to us.
  • Engagement: We want to ensure that our teams are happy and engaged with the company culture and as Cluster HR Manager, you will support with the development and delivery of the HR Strategy for each of the hotels within the cluster, and drive engagement by ensuring local operations teams have monthly engagement calendars with planned activities. To support with this, we are very proud to have our own Company app “LEAPP” and our own reward and recognition platform “Leo Points”.

Our ideal Cluster HR Manager will have:

  • Previous experience in a single-site or cluster HR Manager role with responsibility for managing direct reports to deliver a quality HR service
  • Background in hotels or service sector is preferred, so that you will understand how we work
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law legislation, good HR practice and its application, including previous experience of advising on disciplinary/grievance matters
  • CIPD qualified or working towards CIPD accreditation
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to support all levels of the team, influence senior managers and build effective working relationships
  • Ability to multi task and enjoy making decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Be confident in using computer systems, from payroll to our employee app
  • To be able to coach and develop the management team in HR policy and processes
  • To have knowledge of running payroll is desirable
