Job Purpose
To support the Compliance Function in meeting the regulatory requirements of the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), ensuring the company operates in full compliance with all relevant laws, standards, and internal policies.
Central Bank Controlled Functions (CF) Applicable to This Role
CF-2: Ensuring, controlling, or monitoring compliance by a regulated financial service provider with its relevant obligations.
Pre-Approval Control Function (PCF) Requirements
This role is subject to the Central Bank of Ireland’s Individual Accountability Framework (IAF) and Fitness and Probity (F&P) Standards. These standards require that individuals in such roles must:
- Be competent and capable
- Act honestly, ethically, and with integrity
- Be financially sound
Under Section 21 of the 2010 Act, the Company is required to assess fitness and probity at hiring, annually, or when otherwise deemed necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Support team members with new compliance initiatives applicable to the Company.
- Assist in compliance risk monitoring by identifying and assessing existing and emerging risks.
- Monitor and report on compliance risks and evaluate the effectiveness of controls.
- Promote regulatory compliance and privacy awareness across the Company.
- Assist in the periodic review and update of compliance policies and procedures.
- Maintain and implement the Company’s Compliance Monitoring Plan.
- Conduct compliance monitoring and testing activities.
- Maintain and update compliance registers and internal processes.
- Manage and verify logs, tracking sheets, and systems in line with department guidelines.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Compliance.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Degree-qualified, ideally with a minimum of 6 months’ experience in a similar compliance role.
- Knowledge of the insurance sector is a plus but not essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
