We're Hiring: Conference and Banqueting Manager | The Gateway Hotel
At The Gateway Hotel, part of The iNUA Collection, we are proud to be recognised as a Great Place to Work in Hospitality. We are now seeking an experienced and dynamic Conference and Banqueting Manager to join our team and lead the Meeting & Events function with excellence.
About the Role:
As Conference and Banqueting Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role within our hotel’s operations, responsible for delivering memorable events and experiences for our guests while maximising efficiency, profitability, and team engagement. Reporting to the Hotel Manager and General Manager, and supported by a strong team of M&E Supervisors, Porters, and Assistants, you’ll lead with a hands-on approach and strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all Conference and Banqueting operations, ensuring delivery of exceptional service across meetings, events, and functions.
Collaborate closely with Sales and F&B teams to meet and exceed guest expectations.
Maintain the highest standards in event preparation, room setup, AV equipment, and food and beverage service.
Manage, mentor, and motivate the C&B team to drive performance, development, and engagement.
Proactively manage budgets, inventory, costs, and operational efficiency to meet revenue targets.
Conduct inspections and uphold standards in health & safety, hygiene, and guest satisfaction.
Take ownership of event billing and guest feedback resolution in partnership with the wider team.
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in a Conference & Banqueting or Meeting & Events leadership role in a busy hotel or hospitality setting.
Strong people management, delegation, and operational planning skills.
A guest-centric, “Yes I Can!” attitude and a passion for creating memorable experiences.
Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, F&B, and Kitchen teams.
Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends as required by the events calendar.
