We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to oversee civil engineering and infrastructure projects in the Kildare region.
Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
Lead and coordinate site teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure efficient performance.
Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, local authorities, and third parties to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering and site staff, encouraging professional development.
Assess on-site resource needs, including materials, labour, and equipment, and coordinate accordingly.
Work closely with procurement and commercial teams to ensure timely delivery and cost control.
Negotiate subcontractor agreements and manage their performance on site.
Participate in client and progress meetings to update on timelines, budget status, and technical issues.
Review construction drawings, technical documentation, and specifications to ensure accurate execution on site.
Ensure that all temporary and permanent works are designed, approved, and implemented correctly.
Monitor safety and quality performance, ensuring full compliance with HSQE policies and industry standards.
Keep accurate records of project changes, variations, and delays; assist in contractual administration.
Provide regular reporting on project progress, performance metrics, and commercial risks to senior management.
Ensure regulatory compliance, including permits, licenses, training, and site documentation.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role within the civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
Demonstrated experience delivering roadworks, utilities, or public infrastructure projects.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficient in reading technical drawings and using project management software.
Membership of a professional institution (e.g., Engineers Ireland or ICE) desirable.
Chartered status or working towards it is an advantage.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental best practices.
