Communicare is currently recruiting for a Construction Project Manager to support and coordinate our ongoing building and refurbishment projects. Based in Mayo, this role will involve working closely with contractors, consultants and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with required standards.
This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone with good construction knowledge, strong organisational skills, and a solid understanding of Irish regulatory requirements. Experience in residential or healthcare construction is a bonus but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Assist in planning and delivering construction projects from early stages through to completion, keeping works on track with timelines and budgets.
- Regulatory Awareness: Help ensure compliance with relevant Irish building regulations and health and safety standards. Support the permitting and inspection process as needed.
- Cost Tracking: Monitor budgets and expenses, highlight any issues early, and work with teams to keep costs under control.
- Site Oversight: Carry out regular site visits to support quality, safety, and project progress. Work closely with contractors to resolve day-to-day issues.
- Team Communication: Maintain good communication between internal departments, external contractors, and other relevant parties.
- Problem Solving: Flag risks and challenges and contribute to practical solutions that keep projects moving forward.
- Project Handover: Help ensure completed projects meet standards and that all necessary documentation is in place for handover.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related area (NFQ Level 8 preferred).
- Experience with construction projects in Ireland, ideally including familiarity with local codes and safety standards.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work across teams and with external partners.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic project management or construction software.
- Full clean driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites as required.
