We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Surveyor to join our team in Kerry.
Responsibilities
Carry out highly accurate setting-out of structural and civil works including foundations, slabs, columns, grids, and bolt positions per approved drawings and tolerances.
Conduct full topographic, boundary, and site condition surveys to support project planning and engineering decisions.
Utilize and maintain advanced survey tools including robotic total stations, GNSS systems, digital levels, laser scanners, and data collectors.
Interpret construction drawings, digital models (2D and 3D), and coordinate setting-out information from BIM platforms when required.
Collaborate with project engineers, foremen, and design teams to ensure setting-out aligns with design intent.
Maintain and update site control points and benchmarks, ensuring integrity and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare accurate records of all surveys, including control registers, field data, and as-built verification reports.
Identify inconsistencies or clashes between drawings and site conditions and escalate with appropriate recommendations.
Support QA/QC efforts by conducting as-built surveys and confirming tolerance compliance before handover stages.
Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while working in live site environments.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Skills:
Degree or higher diploma in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
3+ years’ experience performing high-accuracy setting-out on construction or civil engineering projects.
Proficient with surveying instruments and software such as Leica Captivate, Trimble Total Station, GNSS equipment, and 3D scanning tools.
Skilled in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or equivalent software for processing survey data.
Knowledge of coordinate systems, datum conversions, site grids, and construction tolerances.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to detect and resolve inconsistencies in site conditions versus design plans.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
Self-motivated and capable of working under pressure in dynamic site environments.
